Тема уроку: “Our beautiful planet. Can we save it?” 

Мета уроку: практична: систематизувати лексичний матеріал з теми; практикувати учнів в усному мовленні; тренувати учнів у вживанні   лексичного матеріалу в мовленні на рівні слова, фрази та над фразової єдності; практикувати учнів в аудіюванні та читанні; вчити учнів презентувати підготовлений матеріал;

освітня: розширювати філологічний світогляд учнів; збагачувати знання учнів з теми;

розвивальна: розвивати фонематичний слух учнів, довготривалу, оперативну пам’ять, слуховий контроль, здатність самостійно планувати мовний вчинок, вміння логічно, послідовно висловлювати думки іноземною мовою; розвивати мовленнєву реакцію, мовну здогадку, пізнавальні інтереси учнів, розвивати мислення, увагу, уяву в умовах гри, культуру праці та спілкування учнів;

виховна: виховувати бережливе ставлення до природи та її багатств, почуття відповідальності, доброзичливості; виховувати інтерес до навчання, до вивчення англійської мови, культуру спілкування.

 The Stone village

It is the Ukrainian Stonehenge. You can visit it in Zhytomyr region, not far from Kiev – about 250 km.

Why is this place known as the Stone Village?

There is a legend about this place. A pilgrim once visited this village and asked for some food. The rich men listened, then handed him a package, but when the pilgrim opened his gift, he saw nothing but a stone. He was very angry. When the pilgrim left the village, all the houses turned to stones. Nobody knew the pilgrim was the Lord God Himself. On one of the stones the Lord God left his tracks.

    The protection of nature has become one of the most burning problems. It provides people with mineral resources, rivers, forests, fields. The development of industry has had a bad influence on the nature of the whole world. It was very dangerous because it damages health of people.      About 150 years ago the air was pure and clean. Then people started building factories and many of the things they make, like cars, put a lot of harmful gases into the air. Today the air is so polluted in some places that it;s not always safe to breathe.    Polluted air is not only bad for people and animals, but for trees and plants, as well. And in some places it's even damaging farmers' crops - the food we eat.So it's very important for us to "clean up the air we all breathe.The planet Earth is mostly water. All life on the Earth - from the least bug to the biggest whale - depends on this water. But in many places, the water has become polluted.     We need to save our water, to keep it clean and healthy so so people, plants and animals will always have something to drink. And so fish and other creatures will have a place to live.     We have to act fast and cut down the amount of garbage we make. Can we do it? You bet!  If we recycle  and reject we will produce a lot less garbage, and help keep our planet green.     People of our planet have such problem as acid rains. They are extremely harmful to plants, rivers and lakes, and the creatures that live in them. In some places it is killing forests. It is very important for us to stop making acid rains. 

Pancakes

    British people eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday in February or March. For pancakes you need flour, eggs and milk. Then you eat them with sugar and lemon. 

     In some parts of Britain there are pancake races on Shrove Tuesday. People race with a frying pan in one hand.They have to "toss" the pancake, throw it in the air and catch it again in the frying pan.
